The Greek word "πραΰς" means gentle, meek, or humble in the New Testament, primarily used in Matthew 5:5 by Jesus to bless the meek who show humility, kindness, and submission to God. Being meek is about strength in humility, gentleness, and readiness to follow God's will, leading to blessings and rewards.
In ancient times, a king entering a city on a horse symbolized a triumphal, militaristic arrival, indicating power and conquest. However, Jesus intentionally chose to enter Jerusalem on a donkey, fulfilling the prophecy of Zechariah 9:9: "Rejoice greatly, Daughter Zion! Shout, Daughter Jerusalem! See, your king comes to you, righteous and victorious, lowly and riding on a donkey, on a colt, the foal of a donkey.
