REVIEW: USB Memory Direct
For over a decade, I have had the privilege of photographing weddings and delivering images to clients. In that time, I have used DVDs, CDs, downloadable galleries, and USBs. While many people are perfectly fine downloading their images from their gallery onto their computer or device, many people will still request some type of archival device.
Hard drives fail and businesses sometimes fail. That is why we include a USB Memory Direct USB with every wedding collection and large branding project.
It is crucial that your deliverables match your brand and overall aesthetic. You want every touchpoint with your clients to be indicative of the overall experience they will have with you. Details matter! Ask yourself who your ideal client is and what their preferences might be. Look to match your USB to your client’s aesthetic. Does your USB match your website or business card? Does it represent what you stand for? Is it using the same colors or materials one might see if they entered your storefront or visited your website?
We generally use a laser engraved walnut or pine wooden USB, which fits our brand very nicely. We recently test drove the Slick Virtual SLC style with our Custom logo on the front. In white, these offered a clean and modern look that fit our media brand. With the push of a thumb, the USB connector is exposed, otherwise protected within the Slick casing. Adding an additional layer of protection against breakage and potential dust or damage. Needless to say, we're thrilled with the usability and durability of these products and have continued to use them for our high-paying clients how are looking for a tangible keepsake to store in a safe and dry place. We really liked how our logo lit up on our logo when plugged into our Mac. This added touch showcased our intentionality in selecting this specific USB style.
Either for archival or everyday use, USB Memory Direct products are a staple for both of our businesses.
